FairyLoot - September 2020

About FairyLoot and my journey as a subscriber…

FairyLoot is a monthly subscription box based in the UK run by a small yet passionate team. The boxes focus solely on fantasy novels with a different theme each month. The boxes includes 5-6 carefully selected goodies along with a Young Adult or Young Adult crossover book.

I have been subscribed to FairyLoot since 2017 and my first ever box was their one year anniversary box. I remember opening that box and falling in love with it immediately. Over the years I’ve subscribed to other boxes provided by different companies and none have compared to the service that FairyLoot provides.

The customer service that is provided by them is above and beyond anything I’ve ever experienced and that is just the tip of what FairyLoot provides. Each month you can read along the book of the month with one of the members of the team and can discuss the chapters on their community page with other subscribers. It honestly makes you feel like part of a family and I love it.

The theme for September was Under The Sea So let's have a look at what was inside!

Please be aware that from here there may be spoilers if you have not yet received your box!

  • The book of the month is Fable by Adrienne Young and has a redesigned and exclusive cover, sprayed edges and is signed by the author. It also came with an author letter with artwork by @nir4z Synopsis For seventeen-year-old Fable, the daughter of the most powerful trader in the Narrows, the sea is the only home she has ever known. It’s been four years since the night she watched her mother drown during an unforgiving storm. The next day her father abandoned her on a legendary island filled with thieves and little food. To survive she must keep to herself, learn to trust no one, and rely on the unique skills her mother taught her. The only thing that keeps her going is the goal of getting off the island, finding her father, and demanding her rightful place beside him and his crew. To do so Fable enlists the help of a young trader named West to get her off the island and across the Narrows to her father. But her father’s rivalries and the dangers of his trading enterprise have only multiplied since she last saw him, and Fable soon finds that West isn't who he seems. Together, they will have to survive more than the treacherous storms that haunt the Narrows if they're going to stay alive.

My thoughts on this month’s box… I'm a sucker for all things mermaid related so this book is one of my all time favourites. I love the unique cover for the book and cannot wait to delve into this story that I've heard so many good things about.

The pencil case is one of my favourite items and I'm excited to store all my pens for my bullet journal that I'm starting up for next year! It's the perfect size and is of such a good quality!

I love the metal straws as I tend to use them quite frequently so it's nice to change it up! I also love the mug and the artwork on it is just beautiful!

Whilst I'm gutted that I got two of the same Tarot cards, I was super impressed with how quickly FairyLoot replied to my email and organised for a new one to be sent out.
