About Fairyloot and my journey as a subscriber…
FairyLoot is a monthly subscription box based in the UK run by a small yet passionate team. The boxes focus solely on fantasy novels with a different theme each month. The boxes includes 5-6 carefully selected goodies along with a Young Adult or Young Adult crossover book.
I have been subscribed to Fairyloot since 2017 and my first ever box was their one year anniversary box. I remember opening that box and falling in love with it immediately.
Over the years I’ve subscribed to other boxes provided by different companies and none have compared to the service that Fairyloot provides. I went from receiving three subscription boxes to just Fairyloot because, in my eyes, nothing can compare to the care and passion that is put into their monthly boxes.
The customer service that is provided by them is above and beyond anything I’ve ever experienced and that is just the tip of what FariyLoot provides.
Each month you can read along the book of the month with one of the members of the team and can discuss the chapters on their community page with other subscribers. It honestly makes you feel like part of a family and I love it. I’ve only ever participated in one read along but that’s simply because some days I can’t fit in reading a certain amount of chapters or I simply read way too far ahead and finish the book in one day! I loved being able to talk to people about the book and hearing other peoples opinions about the book.
Now, let’s get to the April 2019 box… Please be aware that from here there may be spoilers if you have not yet received your box!
The theme this month was Dark Magic and oh my god I am completely in love (you’ll come to find that I get like this every month!)
As I mentioned above, each item is thoroughly thought out and included. What I love the most about FairyLoot is that they tend to use items created by small and independent designers!
Items included in this month’s box…

An Exclusive Enamel pin of Emberfall designed by Literary Emporium and inspired by Brigid Kemmerer’s book A Curse So Dark and Lonely which was the book included in FairyLoot’s February box.
A book sleeve inspired by V.E.Schwab’s A Darker Shade of Magic series which was designed by @monolimeart exclusive for FairyLoot.
Exclusive Collectable Tarot Cards with art work by @artbyemmilinne to go with the tarot cards provided in previous boxes.
The book for this month is Nocturna by Maya Motayne which has an exclusive cover, sprayed edges and has been signed by the author! The box also contains a author letter with character art designed by @niru.sky.
My thoughts on this month’s box…
There are a few items in this box inspired by series that I have yet to read by that doesn’t make it any less magical. I am absolutely in love with the soap and as an avid enamel pin collector I welcome any beautifully designed pins to add to my collection.
The book sleeve is a really good material and FairyLoot have explained that they’ve changed the way they are producing their booksleeves. This one feels like it will protect my books more and is quite easy to store when not in use.
In regards to the book I hadn’t heard anything about it prior to receiving this box and I cannot wait to get stuck into it and I much prefer the FairyLoot cover then the actual original one.
Once again, Fairyloot has blown it out of the park and produced an amazing and well thought out box. I cannot wait for the next one!
